One important life lesson I have learned is that seasons will always change. Equally important to know is that no matter what season you find yourself in, there will always be some area of warfare to engage-rather that's relationally, your physical health, or your personal pursuit of purpose and destiny. Sometimes you may even find yourself engaged in multiple areas of your life all at the same time. Such is often the case in my own life. It seems like no matter where you turn, or how hard you try, there will just always be something to contend with; something that causes us to engage in warfare even when we do not necessarily want or choose to do so. As a Christian, I take great comfort in knowing that no matter what I face, the unshakeable truth is, Jesus has already given me victory! In 1 Corinthians 15:57, Paul reminds us of this: "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Even though we know we have victory we don't always behave like winners. How is one able to exude an attitude and countenance of a victorious winner in the midst of warfare? It is through our worship. Worship brings the presence of God into every situation we encounter. There is no way we can be in the presence of God and feel the opposite of victorious (defeated, hopeless, weak). Worship is a mighty weapon of warfare. Our worship has the ability to change atmospheres, change lives, and change outcomes. Warfare by its very nature is spiritual, which means nothing we do out of our flesh has any influence. We can never win by resorting to our own natural gifts, talents, intellect, or abilities. We only win when we relinquish in worship. I challenge you, as I challenge myself, to worship your way through whatever season you currently find yourself in. Worship causes God to be magnified and all of our focus and energy directed to Him. In this season, choose to speak life, choose not to quit, and choose to never give up! Seasons always change, so worship like the winner you already are!
